Micronom is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want everyone who visits micronom.com to be able to read our content, navigate the site and contact us with ease, whatever technology they use.
Our conformance target
This website is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens in a new tab) at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive disabilities, and easier to use for everyone.
What we have done
- A logical heading structure, page landmarks and a "Skip to content" link so screen-reader and keyboard users can move around the page quickly.
- Every interactive element can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
- Text and background colours meet or exceed the WCAG contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
- Meaningful text alternatives for images and logos; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Links that open in a new tab say so for screen-reader users.
- The contact form has labelled fields, clear error messages announced to assistive technology, and a keyboard-operable dialog that returns focus when closed.
- The page reflows on small screens and at 400% zoom without sideways scrolling, and respects your operating-system preference for reduced motion.
- Touch and click targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels.
Accessibility options
The round blue button in the bottom-right corner of every page opens an accessibility panel. It lets you increase the text size, switch to high contrast or grayscale, highlight links, use a more readable font, widen text spacing, enlarge the cursor and pause animations. Your choices are stored only in your own browser and are never sent to us. The panel is an addition to, not a substitute for, the accessible design of the site itself.
Assistive technology
The site is built with standard HTML, CSS and JavaScript and is intended to work with current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, and with screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack. The site does not depend on JavaScript for its content: all text remains readable if scripts are disabled, although the contact form and accessibility panel require scripts to run.
Known limitations
- The downloadable PDF documents on this site are produced from the same accessible page templates but have not yet been individually verified with a PDF accessibility checker. If you need any PDF in an alternative format, contact us and we will provide it.
- Some company logos in the experience strip are presented as images or drawings; each carries the company name as its text alternative.
- Links to third-party websites, including LinkedIn and the websites of portfolio companies, lead to pages we do not control and whose accessibility we cannot guarantee.
